These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the gitribe marketplace. They apply to all users of the platform. Some sections apply to everyone, some apply specifically to customers (learners, students, or parents booking sessions), and some apply specifically to providers (tutors or educators offering sessions). By creating an account or using the platform, you agree to these Terms.

1. Definitions

Platform — the gitribe marketplace, including its website and services.
Customer — a user who books or purchases sessions.
Provider — a user who lists and delivers sessions.
Booking — an agreement between a customer and a provider arranged through the platform.

2. Your account

You must provide accurate information, keep your login credentials secure, and be responsible for activity under your account. You must be old enough to enter into a binding contract; accounts used on behalf of a minor must be managed by a parent or guardian. gitribe acts as a marketplace that connects customers and providers and is not itself a party to the agreement between them.

3. For customers

When you book a session, you agree to pay the listed price and any applicable fees or taxes.
Payments are processed securely through our payment provider.
Cancellations and refunds are subject to the provider's stated cancellation policy and any platform rules shown at checkout.
You agree to treat providers respectfully and to attend or reschedule sessions in good faith.

4. For providers

You are responsible for the accuracy of your listings, qualifications, availability, and pricing.
You must have the right and any qualifications or credentials needed to offer your services, and must comply with all applicable laws, including safeguarding rules when working with minors.
You agree to deliver booked sessions professionally and to honor your stated cancellation policy.
gitribe may deduct a service commission and applicable fees from your earnings; the remaining balance is paid out to you according to the payout schedule.
You are responsible for your own taxes on the income you earn through the platform.

5. Fees and payments

Prices are set by providers. Customers pay the price plus any platform or payment fees shown at checkout. Providers receive their earnings minus the applicable commission and fees. We may change our fees with reasonable notice.

6. Acceptable use

All users agree not to misuse the platform, including by posting unlawful, misleading, or infringing content, harassing others, circumventing the platform's payment system, or attempting to disrupt the service.

7. Content and reviews

You retain ownership of the content you submit, but grant us a license to host and display it to operate the platform. Reviews must be honest and based on genuine experiences. We may remove content that violates these Terms.

8. Disputes between users

Customers and providers are responsible for resolving disputes about sessions between themselves in good faith. We may, at our discretion, help facilitate a resolution but are not obligated to do so.

9. Disclaimers and liability

The platform is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for the conduct of any customer or provider or for the quality of any session. Our total liability is limited as permitted by applicable law.

10. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or applicable law. You may close your account at any time; certain obligations (such as completing paid bookings and payouts) survive termination.

11. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
